10 Outfits to Wear in New York City
After a year and a half break of blogging, I am continuing Only Anna Bray! So much has changed in the last year and a half, and I specifically grew fond of New York City. I have been to the city 3 times since then- summer 2021, summer 2022, and winter 2022. I was fortunate enough to spend two weeks in the city last summer for a college program, and I hope to go again this summer. I visited several parts of the city including the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Soho, Financial District, Greenwich, and others. I really love the Upper West Side in the summer, and Soho in the winter. It was really interesting to compare what locals were wearing in the summer vs. winter. Here are a few ideas of what to wear when visiting the city in both seasons:
Summer
Summer dresses! The white dress is from Zara, and the pink one is from a local boutique. Dresses are my favorite thing to wear in the city in the summer because they can be dressed up or down for any event.
Long dresses are perfect for nice dinners in the summer. I wore this to the Boathouse restaurant in Central Park!
I wore jean shorts many times during my summer trips to the city. They are so easy to style and perfect for the hot weather. In this picture I am at Chelsea Market!
I recommend packing one or two statement pieces to wear for special occasions. I wore this romper to see Dear Evan Hanson and Moulin Rouge.
Linen is a necessity if you’re visiting the city in the summer. It is super comfortable to walk in and doesn’t stick to you in the hot weather. This was the outfit I wore on the plane to New York City because I wanted to wear something warm on the plane, so this was perfect.
Winter
There were so many people wearing scarves in the city when I went during Christmastime. These large scarfs, along with the earmuffs, are currently new trends on Pinterest.
Berets!! I never considered packing a beret for my trip, but when I got to the city I saw so many women wearing them, so of course I bought one. Although this outfit made me a bit chilly, it was my favorite one I wore on this trip. I wore this outfit the day I toured Fashion Institute of Technology and New York University.
